Montgomery and surrounding counties are under an ice storm warning from 4 p.m. today to 9 a.m. Tuesday. “A cold front will bring rain and much colder air today," said a National Weather Service alert issued early this morning.
"By late day, temperatures will fall to freezing in most areas and rain may start to freeze on elevated surfaces. Ice may accumulate one quarter to one half inch on exposed surfaces by late tonight."Conditions should improve late Tuesday morning, the alert saidAn ice storm warning means travel is dangerous or impossible. "If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle," the alert said. "Ice accumulations and winds will likely lead to snapped power lines and falling tree branches."
